Filling the Void

The end of the Major League Baseball season has left avoid in many of our lives. The extra time needs to be filled until the games return to us in the Spring. While the following list is not exhaustive, it should help fill some of the void through the Winter.

A few things to do this winter:

  • Players Choice Awards announced (November 4)
  • Silver Slugger Awards announced (November 6)
  • Veterans Day (November 11)
  • Rookie of the Year and Executive of the Year Awards announced (November 11)
  • General Managers and Owners Meetings (November 11-13)
  • Manager of the Year announced (November 12)
  • Cy Young Award announced (November 13)
  • Most Valuable Players Award announced (November 14)
  • Hanukkah (November 27-December 5)
  • Thanksgiving (November 28)
  • Pearl Harbor Day (December 7)
  • Baseball Winter Meetings (December 9-12)
  • Christmas (December 25)
  • New Year’s Eve and New Years Day (December 31-January 1)
  • Martin Luther King Jr. Day (January 20)
  • Groundhog Day (February 2)
  • Winter Olympics (February 7-23)

These are all national things we can all participate in, but do not forget to do things like visit a local museum or other local attractions. Hope this helps pass the time until pitchers and catchers report to Spring Training and we all have baseball games to watch once again.
